Business Networking

WIBN Salisbury - excellent networking interactive discussion.

Our Salisbury Venue has a newly refurbished meeting room. Ongoing Building work ( the addition of a new Spa) resulted in additional pressure on parking but everyone worked together with humour and goodwill to overcome these temporary restrictions.

WIBN Salisbury meetings always benefit from the talent and professionalism amongst the members. Anita Marsh (House of Colour) told how glad she was to return after a very busy summer and from the moment she arrives is always willing to share hints and tips as to how the ladies can brighten their appearance, we look forward to her presentation next month with ideas for the festive season glamour!

Our newest member Caroline Matthews (Trethowans) mentioned she has now attended several meetings and settled so well into the format and ethos of WIBN. Caroline acknowledged her confidence is building each month when presenting her “Minute Pitch”. Although her specialist area of Law is in Licensing she can provide introductions to her colleagues who cover many other areas within the Legal Profession - she is indeed a most welcome addition.

From legal matters the focus shifted to our Health with Elaine Hibell who promoted the quality and efficacy of FLP Products. Elaine has asked for assistance in linking her website to the resident Charity Lucys Day Out in order for a percentage of orders from this Group to go directly to their funds. Julie Page representing this delightful and unique charity was very appreciative for the support if the Group and Dawn Palmer suggested a session devoted to 'brainstorming' plans for 2015 fund raising.

Special mention was made to both Elaine and Tracy as each had done a Sky Dive recently to raise funds for their respective charities, Elaine gave her proceeds to Alzheimers as sadly her Mum has this condition and Tracy to Lucys Day Out in support of the Salisbury WIBN Charity.

Fiona Sheldon gave examples of how her profession as a psychotherapist can help people move forward in their life. Whatever the situation i.e. bereavement, divorce she can help her clients find the inner strength to cope.

Matters of Finance came next with Lesley Dixon (Milburn Finance) offering her bookkeeping services where not only will she maintain your accounts in order but can also take a look at areas of the business and highlighting potential economies on business costs.

Tracy Weston (Santander) received many testimonials for having a such an approachable attitude offering that all important face to face element of business banking. Tracy is always willing to advise and indeed to make links to people who may be able to assist if it is not within her remit at Santander.

Last but not least on the subject of Finances Michelle Meredith (Archway Financial Solutions) will be taking maternity leave soon from the Group. We wish her well and shall look forward to the news of a safe delivery and a healthy new baby. Michelle has an understanding approach to help people make the most of their money in a proactive and sustainable way her expertise with family finances, budget planning, manageable investments has proved to be a successful formula and the firm has recently added and additional 3 members to the Team.

Linda Clewer promoted her Isle of Skye Properties and was able to confirm despite the recent focus (and no doubt lively debates) in that lovely part of the world regarding the Scottish referendum her idyllic Holiday Homes offered peace and tranquility alongside the wonderful.

Joannah Bishop gave her WIBN Toolbox Presentation and was warmly received, the different points she mentioned were reminders to many of the ladies of what they 'already knew but sometimes forget' and it is hoped they will be ensuring their profiles on the website are up to date and all details available. Joannah as always willing to share ideas and promote her role as WIBN Ambassador.

Julie Hutchinson was visiting for the first time and new to the area, Julie specialises in Leadership and Team Coaching and confirmed she had been able to learn and share a great deal during the meeting.

Dawn Palmer now the resident (and much respected) Chair brought what had been a most lively and interactive meeting to a close by reminding all attendees that by not sending their minute if absent they were 'not in the room' and shared some ideas which were based on her visits to different Groups ie when collecting business cards and leaflets they are stored/logged in a way you can identify who gave them to you .. all those names and contacts are a living library and represent your network of contacts and connections.
